Tamper (Burnishing Tool)

This is a tool designed for compressing coffee grinds into the thing for a coffe machine like the ones used in a cafe. 
In my studio (although we do love a coffee), these are used as a burnishing tool. I use it to smooth out slabs, especially when doing cane work, or to ensure that transfers are propperly flattened and adhered to my clay. 
 
These have a completely smooth and flat base that is perfect for burnishing any project you have. Simply place your work under a sheet of baking paper (wax paper) or even regular printer paper and gently rub in continuous circles, applying equal pressure, until the surface of your work is smooth and to your liking.
